Personal Goal Setting

THE HARDER YOU WORK FOR SOMETHING, THE GREATER YOU WILL FEEL WHEN YOU ACHIEVE IT.

Many people feel as if they are adrift in the world. They work hard, but they don't seem to get anywhere worthwhile. A key reason that they feel this way is that they haven't spent enough time thinking about what they want from life, what they want to be for future and haven't set themselves formal goals. So making personal goal setting is important for you to achieve your goals.

WHY YOU MUST SET  GOAL ?

Setting goals gives you long term vision and short term motivation. It focuses your acquisition of knowledge and helps you to organize your time and your resources so that you can make the most of your life. For example top level athletes, successful business people and achievers in all fields all set their goals. So if we set our goals, we can know the direction of our journey to success.

Start with big goals

We like to start with the big goals and then work our way back. So if we start with big goals we must work hard to acieve the goals.

BREAK THE BIG GOALS DOWN INTO SMALLER GOALS

Then it’s time to break the big goals down into smaller, more manageable goals. We look at our yearly goals and break them down by quarter. What do we need to accomplish each quarter to make sure we’re on track to hit our big goals? Then we create a quarterly plan so we know what to work on and when.

Starting to Set Personal Goals

  • First you create your "big picture" of what you want to do with your life (or over, say, the next 10 years), and identify the large-scale goals that you want to achieve.
  • Then, you break these down into the smaller and smaller targets that you must hit to reach your lifetime goals.
  • Finally, once you have your plan, you start working on it to achieve these goals.

Reasons Why you should set goals

  • Take control of your life
  • Get maximum results
  • Creates laser focus
  • Creates accountability
  • Motivates you
  • Be the best you can be
  • Live your best life

Smart Goals

A useful way of making goals more powerful is to use the SMART . While there are plenty of variants (some of which we've included in parenthesis), SMART usually stands for:
